The competition is shaping up to be a battle between the Americans and the Chinese. Canada had a decent first rotation, but the fall by Golding will hurt their score.

Yang Wei - FX -perfect double double layout!!! -fall on 2 ½ punch front punch front! -full-in, wonderful -too bad about the fall!
Huang Xu….didn't compete….China was unaware of the 3-3-3 rule, thought they could substitute athletes, therefore are out of the running for the team title

Istria - PB -form break on Healy -double back -double pike, step forward -8.500
McClure - HB -layout Tkatchev - some pike -double double layout - loss of form
Dezhi - PH -fall
Bartlett - AUS - PB -fall on double pike -8.250
Lang - V -Yurchenko 2 ½ - large step to side, but clean in the air
Japan on FX -clean, but unimpressive
Ikeda - V -full-twisting Tsuk, weak
Townsend - HB -caught Kovacs, but struggling heavily on several pirouettes -bad fall on triple back dismount
Rizzo - PB -fall on single bar element -double pike dismount, hop -8.600
Yang Wei - PH -gorgeous circles, flairs, perfect dismount -9.750
Hamm - HB -Kolman - nice -three Tkatchevs (two layout) -nice double double dismount -9.475

McClure - FX -no major errors, solid routine ending with a double tuck -8.550
Rizzo - HB -some loss of form on pirouettes -Def -fall before dismount -stuck double double layout
Townsend - FX -double twisting front punch front punch front, loss of form, falling into prone -weak second pass -double tuck, one step -not his best routine -8.700
